Fire Fighting
Hoses:
There are three types of hose used at Devil Pinch:
Canvas lay flat :- This is the hose generally used at incidents it comes in two types non percolating and percolating (allows water to slow leak from the hose, used primarily in bushfire situations to stop the hose from being damaged by hot embers). Devils Pinch carries 25mm, 38mm, 50mm and 65mm lay flat hose with Storz couplings.
Hose Reel :- Devils Pinch has two hose reels on our Cat 1 tanker. These are used in most bushfire situations, as it is easy to unroll and roll up for faster re deployment. On these reels we use a basic adjustable branch or a dial a jet.
Suction Hose :- This hose is made of hard rubber and has wire wound down the length of the hose to stop it being compressed when drafting. Suction hose is used to draft water from water sources such as dams or swimming pools.
Branches: For our 38 and 65mm hose we use TFT variable branches.
We also use AWG branches for our 65mm hoses.
